Case for Change
The status quo in hospital care is no longer an option for the Niagara Health System (NHS) if we are going to live up to our commitment to provide quality health-care in an affordable manner well into the future.
We believe these are the main reasons why change is needed in the way we provide hospital care across NHS:
- to improve Niagarans’ health;
- to meet Niagarans’ expectations;
- to recognize differences in health status needs and resources across the region;
- to recognize that hospitals are not always the best places to receive health-care;
- to provide more specialized care;
- to more effectively utilize our health-care providers and professionals, buildings and equipment;
- to make the best use of taxpayers’ money.
