According to the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Underserviced Area Program, currently, the Niagara Region requires an additional 95 Family Physicians outlined below by municipality/community:
- Niagara Falls – 26
- St. Catharines – 20
- Welland – 13
- Grimsby/Beamsville/Smithville – 9
- Fort Erie – 9
- Thorold – 6
- Port Colborne/Wainfleet – 6
- Fonthill – 4
- NOTL – 2
